Savoury Cheddar Scones

Makes 8 scones

  • 250g Flour
  • 90g butter
  • 100g Nettle and Chive Grated
  • 200-250ml milk
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Place flour, baking powder, salt and butter in the mixing bowl and cut butter into cubes
  • Using your fingers mix the butter into the flour until it resembles fine bread crumbs
  • Add in your cheese
  • Make a well in the center of your dry mix and slowly add milk until it reaches a doughy consistency. (too dry, add more milk, too wet, add more flour)
  • Knead dough for 1 /2 minutes on a lightly flowered board
  • Roll out into a circle approx.. 1” thick
  • Cut into 8 triangles, similar to a pizza
  • Brush left over milk on top of each triangle and place on a parchment lines baking tray
  • Bake at 180dg for approx. 15 minutes or until golden brown
  • Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving
