Savoury Cheddar Scones
Makes 8 scones
- 250g Flour
- 90g butter
- 100g Nettle and Chive Grated
- 200-250ml milk
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Place flour, baking powder, salt and butter in the mixing bowl and cut butter into cubes
- Using your fingers mix the butter into the flour until it resembles fine bread crumbs
- Add in your cheese
- Make a well in the center of your dry mix and slowly add milk until it reaches a doughy consistency. (too dry, add more milk, too wet, add more flour)
- Knead dough for 1 /2 minutes on a lightly flowered board
- Roll out into a circle approx.. 1” thick
- Cut into 8 triangles, similar to a pizza
- Brush left over milk on top of each triangle and place on a parchment lines baking tray
- Bake at 180dg for approx. 15 minutes or until golden brown
- Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving
